We’re very happy to announce today that a well-known name in the mobile industry, Dan Appelquist, has joined the BlueVia team.
Dan joins us from Vodafone R&D, where he was a technology strategist and evangelist. He’ll add new energy to our product line-up in his new role leading product management.
One of Dan’s first tasks will be to hire product managers who have the vision and passion to take our products to the next level, giving web and mobile developers new ways to tap into telecoms infrastructure and commercialise their apps.
Here’s Dan’s brief bio: Dan moved to London from New York at the height of the dot-com bubble to be CTO for TheStreet.co.uk, a financial news start-up and spin-off of TheStreet.com. He moved to Vodafone where helped to launch Vodafone Live! in 2002. In 2005, he started MobileMonday London and the helped to create the W3C Mobile Web Initiative. Since 2010, he’s been working with Sir Tim Berners-Lee on the W3C’s Technical Architecture Group and helping to bridge the gap between the mobile and Web worlds.
We’re thrilled Dan’s make this move and hope you have a chance to meet him soon at one of our events, or in TechHub, where he’ll certainly be spending quite a bit of his time.
