Games, games, games! Who hasn’t played the Final Fantasy saga? Who hasn’t been delighted with Gran Turismo? We know that many videogame fans read this blog so thought you might be interested in knowing that we took part in Gamelab 2012, June 27th in Barcelona. Known as the videogame fair, Gamelab brought together 20,000 people in its 8th year (tripling the number of last year’s attendees). The organization dedicated this year’s event to empower the videogame entrepreneurs and the SME’s dedicated to move forward this industry.
We were excited to see Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy saga that received the award “Gamelab Legend”. Also, Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo, participated in the finale of the Gamelab 2012. He was honored with the Videogame Academy Honor Award.

So yes, we had the chance to have a slot among all these people. Our events rock star Andrés Martinez @davilagrau was our spokesperson and he had the opportunity to talk to the organizers and attendees about the Open Web Device initiative; one of our main messages this semester. We’re delighted to show to the world how this technology can help people and give them the opportunity to have a connected device without the need of paying a price. The presentation was followed by 90 attendees who were very interested in asking questions regarding the Brazilian market, the architecture and the perfomance aspects ( a very important part for the games) as well as the architecture. The feedback was immensely positive.
Meanwhile, we checked the new Nintendo Wii U (best Christmas 2012 present by the way!), the Playstation’s Wonderbook which is a PS3 accessory and new games such as ‘Borderlands 2′ and ‘Spec Ops: The Line’ for Xbox 360; both presented by 2K.
We want to thank Raul Escolano, Innovation director of Wundermand (WPP Group) and Digital Legends team, Xavier Carrillo, who was really interested in OWD.
Playing! That’s what we did in the Gamelab and that’s something you can do if you try our APIs. Get registered in bluevia.com and keep it up! Interested in future events? Check @bluevia and @bluevia_es for all updates.
