BlueVia on tour in Chile and Argentina

BlueVia Business Models in AeV

Last week, the BlueVia team went on a mini-tour of Latin America, starting in Argentina and finishing in Chile.

During our travels, we had the opportunity to meet with many developers as we were part of three fantastic events:

  • StartUp Chile - On March 31, we headed to the weekly meet up organized by Startup Chile. We presented BlueVia to more than 30 attendees, including entrepreneurs from the Startup Chile program, as well as developers and people from the mobile community of Santiago de Chile.
  • Movistar Chile Presentation. On April 1, at an event organized by Movistar Innovation and the BlueVia team in Chile, more than 150 attendees came to hear all about BlueVia and ask any questions they had about the platform
  • Adobe en Vivo. This was a great event with more than 200 attendees from Adobe, Blackberry and PHP communities. BlueVia showed how to monetize apps on these platforms. We also had the opportunity to meet with all the speakers and got to hear about many initiatives in different countries in LatAm.

These events were fantastic, but our mini-tour also gave us the opportunity to discuss with developers areas where BlueVia can improve or offer new services:

  • BlueVia for platforms at home: Digital TV and gaming platforms are increasingly becoming a part of our life at home. BlueVia delivers network capacities which can help to implement apps such as:
    • Contests and voting systems
    • Integrated billing systems (one-click)
    • SMS based interaction, outdoor and indoor games
    • Store system for multimedia content
  • Entrepreneurship with BlueVia:  Thanks to its service oriented delivery and recurrent business models, BlueVia can help to reduce capital expenditure, as well as helping to introduce recurrent cash flows to app’s revnues. These features were of interest to a lot to the entrepreneurs from Start Up Chile and Movistar Innovation.
  • BlueVia in enterprise applications: Implementing smart interaction systems based on SMS communications seems to be an opportunity for new business models to be developed: leads delivery for CRMs, simple payments or SMS based marketing, all of which can be implemented on BlueVia. Everyone agreed that BlueVia allows developers to enrich feature phones with applications for the web generation.

These ideas show how BlueVia is helping to create new business models. But they also show how the developers can innovate if they have enough incentives. BlueVia is helping this open innovation become a reality.

So, thanks to everyone we met in Chile and Argentina while on tour – we appreciated your comments and feedback on BlueVia and look forward to making the platform even better for you!
